Conversations for Women is a new series starting this spring! Conversations are for women of all ages and stages! Each Conversations will be an opportunity to meet together as women surrounding a common topic of interest and learn together as disciples of Christ. The model will be simple: show up eager to learn and be ready to be part of the conversation! Each Conversation will take place at Ogletown from 6:30-8:30pm in GreenRoom (E212). Conversations will be open to friends of our ministry as well so please invite a friend to join you!
MAY 2 | GROWING IN HOSPITALITY & ALLOWING GOD TO GROW YOUR COMMUNITY Savannah Gable
Do you ever feel like finding community is hard? Or, no matter how hard you try, you can’t shake feeling like an outsider? What does it look like to build and invest in others when the hurdles are big? Amidst the challenges of moving, exploring churches, and even restarting - learn how to build deep roots with the people around you and take initiative in allowing God to use you in a community. Walk through things that work and common errors and missteps as you move toward the church. Join this conversation if you have ever felt like it's hard to connect at church, want to grow in opening your home and schedule up to others in the church, or just want to hear from other women who have navigated the ups and downs of leaning into the church and its people.
MAY 9 | WALKING ALONGSIDE OTHERS ON THE ROAD OF SUFFERING & LOSS Elizabeth Guertin
When someone you know is experiencing suffering or loss, it presents a way for you to love and serve them in a unique way. But it can also feel ... overwhelming. What should I say? What should I do? What should I not say? Can I offer hope? Come be part of the conversation as we journey through what often holds us back, how we should move toward sufferers, and explore our hope in Christ now and to come! Join this conversation if you want to learn more about how to care for and grow in your understanding of someone who is grieving or suffering, want to be more equipped to pray and offer hope, or desire encouragement in your own pathway of grief & suffering.
MAY 16 | UNLOCKING BIBLE STUDY PRINCIPLES & STRATEGIES Kaci Rainey & Jamie Kaczowka
We all know studying God’s word is important, but figuring out where to start can feel hard! This workshop is designed to help you develop essential skills to deepen your understanding and application of the Bible. This will be a hands-on, interactive session of learning how to apply tools together. Join this conversation if you want to better study your Bible, would be interested in teaching someday, or simply better understand the meaning of well-known biblical texts.
JULY 11 | WHAT IS GOD DOING DURING CONFLICT? Robin Johnston
Everyone hates it but could God be up to something good in conflict? In this breakout, we will look at what God might be doing in conflict and how to do conflict in a way that loves God and loves your neighbor well. We’ll talk a lot about practical strategies for conflict in marriage - but 99% of these strategies can be adapted to conflict of all types in relationships of all kinds. Join this conversation if you have ever been in a conflict, been challenged with conflict in relationships, or want to grow in learning how to better navigate conflict as a follower of Jesus.
AUGUST 8 | Q&A FOR MOMS Jamie Walters
Each stage of motherhood brings its own challenges and questions. Sometimes motherhood can even be lonely and isolating. But we aren’t intended to mom alone! God has given us a church full of women who are also journeying through the various stages of motherhood And sometimes as we go, we find we’d love to ask other moms questions for input and perspective. So that is what we are going to do! Join this conversation if you want to sit with, talk to, and learn from other moms around you at Ogletown who have walked, or are currently walking, right where you are walking as a mom.
